About
Born in 1996 in Normandy, Jonathan Bertin has been living and working in Paris since 2023. A color photographer who works with both digital and film, he has emerged as an artist of the ultra-ordinary.
After beginning his photographic journey by exploring his region and studying in the field of imagery, a sense of fatigue set in, leading him to embark on a long introspective process and a two-year journey around the world.
Upon returning to the Normandy countryside, his vision was profoundly impacted by his explorations, shaping a photographic approach that he refined in this familiar territory—the everyday would then become the playground for his practice.
In 2022, the artist culminated this period of research with an exhibition in the off-show of Paris Photo at Galerie MR80 on Rue de Turenne, as part of his project New York - Quest I, which illustrates his curiosity about spaces and the interaction of humans with them.
2024 is a year of realization for Jonathan Bertin. He unveils his second book, Impressionism published by Four Eyes Editions. This new body of work is inspired by his native region, and showcases his work in an exhibition during the Normandy Impressionist Festival.
